Welcome New Members
Dear New Homeowner,
On behalf of the Guest Cottage Homeowners Association Board of Directors and the other homeowners of Guest Cottage, we welcome you to our community. Over the coming months we look forward to meeting you, whether it be walking down the street, at the pool, on the beach, or at a community meeting.
The operation of your homeowner's association is governed by a board of volunteer directors. The five Board members are elected on a staggered basis by the community. Elections are held at the annual homeowners meeting in October. The Board is responsible for overseeing the daily functions and financial responsibilities of the Association, and for maintaining members’ compliance with the established rules and guidelines. Please take the time to read through the Declarations and Bylaws you received during the home purchase process. Copies are available on this website. There are Board meetings, held on an as needed basis at the Heron Pointe Clubhouse or our HOA office. All homeowners are invited.
As a new homeowner, you may already have some ideas on how you’d like to improve your property. Please keep in mind, the Association has an Architectural Review Committee to help maintain the quality of our neighborhood. Its function is to evaluate the plans for all exterior landscaping, repairs and remodeling (such as painting, decks, fences, trees and bushes, replacement roofs, etc.) in order to ensure compliance with all covenants, restrictions and guidelines. The purpose of this review is to protect our scenic environment and maintain the value of our homes. Modifications to the exterior of your home and property must be submitted to the board for approval before any work begins, you can find the form on this website. If work is started without prior approval, the homeowner may be required to alter or remove the changes.
Our community website is a repository of information regarding Guest Cottage and the surrounding area. Upcoming activities and events, announcements, a community calendar, declarations and bylaws, architectural review forms, and volunteer committee information can all be found here. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with this resource and to get to know your community. This website provides answers to most of the questions homeowners have.
We also have a Facebook Page, titled "GC Myrtle Beach, SC". Please check it out and submit your request to be added to the page. This page is strictly for homeowners of Guest Cottage.
Our Property Manager, Doug Baden, can be reached at 843-246-7602 or via email at duganb@frontier.com. He should be contacted regarding any service issues in regard to community property or any apparent violations of rules and guidelines.
We will provide all the information so that you can access our website and get information on the operation of the HOA. Please check back here often for updates, events, news, and local happenings.
If you have questions, concerns or comments, please reach out to any board member or use the "contact us" link under the welcome tab - we want to hear from you!
Again, welcome to the Guest Cottage community! We know you’ll find that this neighborhood is a great place to live, and we encourage your participation in our activities and functions.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors
Guest Cottage Homeowners Association
